YOUR KNEE GUIDE.

Dominic Richmond BSc, MSc, MCSP, ASCC, MMACP

Knee problems have a way of quietly taking things away. Sport. Confidence. Certainty about what comes next. I help people get those things back.

I came to physiotherapy through my own frustration with vague answers. A patellar tendinopathy with no clear guidance from my physio pushed me toward a different way of thinking. I built one around strength, performance, and actually understanding what's going on rather than just managing symptoms.

My background in sport and exercise science, and later as a strength and conditioning coach, gave me a framework for the body that has always been about what it can do. When I moved into MSK physiotherapy and then advanced practice, the knee kept pulling me back. It's a joint that carries enormous consequence for how people live and move, and good care and average care genuinely changes outcomes.

My NHS role sits at the interface between physiotherapy and orthopaedic surgery. In practice, that means I can arrange imaging when it's needed, advise on whether surgery is worth considering, and connect you directly with a consultant surgeon. I work regularly alongside orthopaedic consultants, which means if your case does need a surgical conversation, you're not going in cold.

In private practice, that same level of thinking applies to every assessment. You're not getting a standard physiotherapy appointment, instead, you're getting a specialist clinical opinion on your knee, with a clear plan at the end of it.

I run clinics in Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds, and I see patients across the full range. People who play sport seriously and want to get back to it, to people in their fifties or sixties who just want to walk without thinking about their knee. The level of care is the same either way.

I've worked across the NHS, private practice, and elite sport - including time with Norwich City Football Club - and that breadth has shaped an approach that prioritises long-term knee health over short-term fixes or rushed returns to activity.

Outside the clinic I spend most of my time hiking, lifting, cycling, and trying to keep up with my toddler daughter.

If you've been trying to get a clear answer about your knee and you are struggling then get in contact.

His role is simple: to guide you through uncertainty with clarity, evidence, and a elite-level plan you can trust.
